Covid-19 Projects
2020-2021: The National COVID-19 Lockdown Level 4 began at 11.59 pm on March 25, 2020. In response Tui Trust launched its' Community Response Project followed two weeks later by our Whānau Health Project. Throughout all lock-down levels we supported over 100 vulnerable families from Family Start Waikato, Moko Club Ngāruawāhia and Huntly by providing food and essentials items. We will continue this work for as long as we need to. Any donations made to Tui Trust for these projects will assist us to maintain a high level of support to our families.
Thank you to our Sponsors
The Community funders in the Waikato region combined efforts to directly support non-profit organisations to support the well-being of the most at-risk people, who may be affected by COVID-19. The Waikato Community Funders Group includes the Brian Perry Foundation, Braemar Charitable Trust, The Department of Internal Affairs, D.V. Bryant Trust, Gallagher Foundation, Len Reynolds Trust, Momentum Waikato, Trust Waikato, WEL Energy Trust, Hamilton City Council and Waikato Regional Council.
We need to say a huge thank you to these groups in particular D.V. Bryant Trust and Trustees and WEL Energy Trust who supported our projects with grants and donations. The outcomes meant that families had warm clothing for their children, had wood for their fires and enough food for a family of 6 for one week. These projects helped families calm the immediate uncertainty of how they would meet the basic needs for their children during very uncertain times.
